Birth Circle
Re birthing the collective culture of women through community, sacred circle and creative presence.
For mothers from preconception through pregnancy and the baby years, and all the women who love them.
11AM-1PM the first Fridays of every month at
10B East Market Street,
Black Mountain, NC 28711

Nearly every mother I know experiences some form of isolation and exhaustion in her pregnancy and especially in the postpartum. So many mothers are grappling with big unanswerable questions about how to shift this isolation and the feeling that they are alone in their mothering.
This is not because women are doing it wrong or because mothering is inherently isolating and anxious. It is because we were never meant to do it alone, and because the collective culture of women has been systematically oppressed and degraded for countless generations.
Women all over the world are re birthing this collective culture. We are learning how to lift each other up. We are restoring our self love and living into what we know in our bones is our birthright. We are learning how to speak what we want and need and follow our desires. We are learning how to show up for each other and trust that what is given returns to us amplified.
This circle is my offering to the cultural restoration already underway in so many hearts.
Togetherness is one of the most basic human and deeply feminine needs. Our very biology moves us to turn to each other for strength and comfort in times of stress and need. Of course we feel crazy and sad and anxious when we are trapped in our single family homes alone for hours on end with our babies in the young years!
You are not alone and it does not have to be this way.
Together in sacred circle we are more than the sum of our parts. We are Witness, Guidance, Refection, Wisdom, Courage and Communion. We develop bonds that see us through the hardship and generate a new culture for ourselves and the future generations.
“Paeonia has a gift for holding sacred space and circles. Her presence is grounding and nourishing and the space she creates is filled with safety and allows for community and vulnerability. Finding such a community when entering into motherhood is truly a blessing” -Miwa, circle participant.
Please register ahead and arrive on time, so that we can settle into a strong container.
*This space is certainly open to non-binary people on the childbearing continuum. You, and the language you use to identify yourself, will be honored.
